Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT)
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is the global body for Logistics and Transport professionals. Established in 1919 it serves a global community of over 30,000 members.
The CILT qualifications offer various pathways for specialisms in a range of supply chain disciplines such as freight transport, passenger transport, port operations, fleet management, retail logistics, humanitarian logistics, procurement, inventory management and warehousing amongst others.
As a global body, being part of the CILT membership network not only affords individuals recognition but also builds networks with other like-minded professionals. A range of post-nominals can be gained from CILT membership, including MILT and the prestigious CMILT and FCILT designations for Chartered Members and Fellows.
Exam Route Overview
Harley Reed offers a unique range of options for studying CILT qualifications.
The examinations route features core units and options suited to a wide range of job roles and specialisms. Courses are run on a modular basis and students can enrol all year round. This route is also suitable for individuals who may not be currently working directly in a logistics, transport, or supply chain-related role but are interested in joining this critical sector.

Applied Learning Route Overview
Harley Reed has developed an applied learning route in collaboration with CILT to afford practicing professionals an alternative path to qualifications and chartered membership at the Diploma and Advanced Diploma levels.
For working professionals, this route provides a robust, practical way to demonstrate competence through workplace assignments rather than traditional exams.
Diploma Level
Typically completed in 6 months. Focused on building practical core competencies for logistics and transport roles.
Advanced Diploma Level
Typically completed in 12–15 months. Ideal for mid-to-senior professionals targeting chartered status.
Intensive Workshops
Delivered through a series of interactive 2-day workshops led by industry experts.
Assignment-Based
Demonstrate competence through structured assignments after each workshop, with direct tutor guidance.
Chartered Membership
Fast-track pathway toward recognized CILT qualifications and professional chartered status.

Who is eligible to join?
The CILT Applied Learning route is exclusively available to individuals currently working in a supply chain, logistics, or transport-related role. Note: Those not currently working in these sectors can enroll via the standard examination route.
