The session empowered the leaders to think beyond compliance, recognise that early adoption of ESG-focused strategies delivers measurable benefits, reduce operational costs, enhance stakeholder confidence and improve risk management.

Cima Sholotan, General Manager, Advisory Services for Harley Reed Nigeria, hinted that Nigeria is advancing rapidly in ESG with a phased adoption of IFRS S1 and S2 standards endorsed in March 2024, transitioning to the mandatory disclosures for all public interest entities from 2028, with Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) following by 2030.
She reiterated that ESG practices are not optional in today’s global business environment, but they are a strategic imperative for competitiveness, resilience and investor confidence. Hence, Harley Reed’s Board-level awareness and ESG readiness workshop for functional leaders will equip the procurement and supply chain leaders to integrate ESG principles into governance, strategy and performance, driving long-term value creation.
