Procurement and Contract Management training was held in Abuja on 21st and 22nd January 2022 for USAID GHSC-PSM NIGERIA staff. The training is the first phase of the FCT cluster made up of the states of Sokoto, Zamfara and Bauchi. The workshop was developed following an initial assessment of procurement and contract management training needed for targeted senior staff of governments in the selected states.
The objective of the workshop was to support selected states towards effective and sustainable Drug Revolving Fund (DRF) schemes and supply chains in twelve (12) USAID funded TO2, TO3 and TO4 territories (11 selected States and the FCT)
The workshop provided insight into key concepts in procurement and contract management and the impact of procurement strategies on the achievement of the objective. The participative approach used in the delivery of the workshop facilitated the engagement of participants during the workshop and enabled a better grasp of the subjects.
The two-day workshop, which had full attendance, delivered to its objectives as demonstrated by all participants through the knowledge and skills they acquired. The use of workshops for training applied through interactive learning proved valuable in acquiring skills for the participants. Monitoring and review of the impact of the training are recommended. While looking forward to improved workplace performance, follow-up training is recommended to build on the foundation already laid
