Sonia commenced her professional accountancy career with Deloitte and Touche in the UK, during which time she obtained her ACCA qualification. Upon qualifying, Sonia worked as a management accountant, eventually joining the global education provider BPP as a senior lecturer and ACCA programme manager.
In 2003, her career took her to South Africa where she facilitated training in financial accounting, tax, financial management and management accounting for CA(SA) students across South Africa.
Sonia went on to establish a successful training institution for finance related professional qualifications before joining CIMA as the Regional Learning Development Manager for Africa.
Her international experience in education, course development and facilitation spanning 20 years, offers a strong and proven background in education with extensive experience in evaluating, designing and delivering a range of learning interventions.
Sonia previously served as the Managing Director of Harley Reed South Africa and Global Head of Knowledge Services before moving to a role outside of Harley Reed. However, Sonia remains a Non-Executive Director of Harley Reed South Africa.
